Apple Pickin'

We are fortunate enough to live near so many apple orchards...among other obvious farmland crops (eh hem...corn...soybeans). We recently ventured out to Nebraska City to Kimmel Orchard with our friends to pick some apples! We got there just before they were closing the shop down so we weren't able to taste any of their yummy apple treats, but the apples we came away with were delicious! Since fall so far has been fairly warm there weren't too many ripe apples to choose from yet...and it had rained the day before so there were TONS of mean bugs out, but that's okay, its the experience that matters right?

(As you can see, this particular part of the orchard was a bit unkempt for some reason...the trees resembled huge wild bushes more than trees)
