Tyler began soccer at the beginning of April and had practice every Saturday morning for 6 weeks. He LOVED it! Ever since he went to his friends soccer game last spring he has been bugging us to sign him up for soccer.
We loved the soccer league that we signed him up with too. At his age it is all just training, no games. The first week was pretty funny, the coach said "Okay, I want you to dribble the ball around the field" So, they all proceeded to pick up the ball so they could dribble it, then the coach realized he probably should explain what dribble in SOCCER means. That was the only week with that coach, the other weeks was a different girl, who actually explained to the little boys how to do each skill and showed them.
Tyler had a blast each week and got better each time. I think his favorite game they played was sharks/fish, where they all dribbled the ball around while a few kids would chase them and tag them with a jersey. He always refused to do the drill that the coach described as "rock the baby", this is where they would put their foot on the ball and rock it back and forth. He said "I'm not going to do that, it's a ball, not a baby"
It was a new thing for all of us, including Jack, since Soccer is one of the few sports he never played growing up. We plan on signing him up again in the fall since he is still too young for most other sports. Here's a few pictures and a video!
GO TEAM!!!
