Snow....snow...GO AWAY!

We have had 1 too many snow storms so far this winter, for a total so far of around 45", and predictions show more to come. The first big snow, sometime in early December, was kind of exciting, since we had never seen anything like it. But then another storm blew by, then another, then another. Next thing we know Jack is spending every night outside shoveling the driveway, raking the roof, clearing the furnace vent. NOT fun anymore. Tyler occasionally helps Jack shovel, and every time he comes in with wind burnt cheeks from the wind and cold, poor kid. Not only have we had a ton of snow, but we have also had record breaking low temperatures and wind chills to go with them. I think the lowest I saw was a wind chill of -28. Brrrrrr.

I haven't felt too wonderful lately so I'm kind of sad to report I didn't get any pictures of the massively HUGE snow piles we have had outside lining our driveway for weeks. Or of the "widow maker" icicles lining the roof above the garage. Maybe I can get a picture of the front of jack's brother's house where the front walk has a big solid snow wall on either side taller than Tyler. But just believe me, it was a site to behold. For me at least. These are some pictures of, I believe, the second big snow we had.

I've never seen so much snow in all my little southern life. I'm not sure I'd know what to do if it ever did that here?? I'd be freaking out about not having enough milk and bread!! lol.

"widow-maker icicles" Good one. You had some huge ones! And the pile on one side of our walkway was 7 feet tall at one point! It's only 4 or so now...so small!
