This is a few weeks late, but here it is anyway! Jacob turned 5 months at the end of September. We can't believe how fast he is growing! He is still Mr. Chunky Monkey...Chubs...Little Buddha...whatever name you want to give the "Healthy" boy of ours :) He is so happy all the time. He loves to make noises and explore new sounds constantly. He has FINALLY started spreading out his feedings, which has given me a little more freedom, thank goodness. (Okay, by freedom I mean not having him constantly nursing...I still have to tote him along with me everywhere I go these days because he is most def. a mama's boy and want's to be able to see me at all times or whoever has him will get an earful. )
We recently started giving him solids and he LOVES them, what would you expect from a baby that chubby? Up until today he has just had rice cereal and prunes (yum.), but tonight we gave him his first taste of squash and he couldn't get enough of it. It's amazing how fast he has learned to eat solids, you can really tell he loves eating. Tonight he would start whining as soon as Jack would take the spoon away, and would start reaching for it as soon as he saw the spoon coming back towards him. We keep telling Tyler that his baby brother is going to surpass him in weight pretty soon...Tyler is 26 lbs right now, and Jacob is around 20lbs already! He has also started the painful battle of getting his teeth in. His bottom front two teeth are trying to come through, it is so sad to see him moaning in pain, thank goodness for teething tablets!
He has started sitting up recently, and gets this huge smile when he is able to do it! He rolls all over the place now too! You can see him trying to figure out how to crawl too, he'll put one foot forward and try to push off of it (but only succeeds in rolling himself back over or making his body twist in another direction). We also finally switched him out of our room (yeah!) into the same room as Tyler. We were really nervous but decided to just do it, and as always, the two of them suprised us and do great in the same room together! Jacob is sleeping much better in his crib, and Tyler is so good with being quiet as he is going to sleep so he doesn't wake up Jacob. Tyler feels special that he is the "big brother" in the room.
These are a few recent pictures! Up until now I had been carrying Jacob around in a sling, but he is getting so heavy it was just too much on my back, so we got out our front carrier. This is a picture of the first time we put him in it, it was really hard to get him in, because he is so chubby! He almost doesn't fit it, we can only fit him in if he is just wearing a onsie and no pants...which won't work because it's a bit chilly now.
