Our sweet Katy Joy turned 1 at the end of July! I was so excited to plan her party. I themed her party around pinwheels and bright summer colors, I had so much fun! We had her party at a fun park near where we live since we don't exactly have much entertaining space in the apartement here. We had lots of friends and some family come join us for her celebration!
The yummy spread....chicken salad and pb&j sandwiches, Chick-Fil-A chicken nuggets, fruit, veggie chips, animal crackers, lemonade and cake! I have to give kudos to my wonderful husband who basically made everything....all I really did was assemble the cakes. I also made a cute pinwheel centerpiece to go along with her balloons
I was SO excited about her birthday cake...a good friend of ours did these baby food jar cakes for her sons birthday last year and as soon as I saw them I knew I HAD to make them for Katy's birthday...I just had to wait about 11 months. I made little pinwheel picks to go on top
The lovely birthday girl!
We kept trying to take a picture with her and her cupcake, but she kept reaching for it (I suppose I don't blame her), so this is the best shot I could find.
She was our frist baby to actually touch...and enjoy her 1st Birthday cake!
(I think its funny that the bib I quickly grabbed for her was the bib my doctor gave us when she was born)
My sister was so kind to make a QUICK trip from Santa Fe with her kids to celebrate Katy's birthday with us My brother happened to be coming through Santa Fe on the way to moving to Mesa, so he came along as well. It was so nice of them to come visit, we loved having some family celebrate with us along with our friends!
We had so much fun celebrating our sweet Katy's birthday and are so blessed to have made so many great friends here in Colorado so quickly to have with us as well! Thanks for the wonderful gifts and for spending the afternoon with us!

Looks like a fantastic party! Everything turned out great. Just wish we could have been there to celebrate in person. Happy birthday sweet Katy!
