A couple weekends ago we decided to take a quick trip to Kansas City. We like to take spontaneous trips to cities close by as a way to just get out of town and away from stresses at home. We stayed at a nice hotel near the Club Plaza area, which is just outside of downtown Kansas City. This area was so cool! It is RICH with history...and for the rich I suppose too. It is an outdoor shopping plaza with blocks and blocks of shops and restaurants that was originally built in the 1920's. There are huge, old, mansions surrounding it and a little river that follows along the side of it, they even have gondola rides in the summer! Tyler was so excited to go on a vacation, he was so cute and giddy when we got to the hotel room, he just thought it was so cool. We enjoyed being able to wake up and walk to breakfast each morning since the weather was so nice! We went to a few restaurants that Omaha doesn't have that we miss, like Chick-fil-A and Panda Express.... YUMMO, and our favorite store Crate and Barrel. On our way back to Omaha we stopped by the Independence Visitors Center to learn a little more, and to teach Tyler, about what the pioneer saints went through in the early days of the church. Its amazing that many, many families would live in a one room cabin half the size of our apartment...and we have a hard time with just the 4 of us in it.

So fun! Someday we'll have to go back on the same weekend and you can guide us to the Chick-fil-A. Love the pictures. And I second the comment on the cake post. I could us a second helping right now actually! So yummy and cute.
Cool Tiffany! Sounds like you guys had a blast! :) (And I'm somewhat shocked to hear that Omaha doesn't have a Chik-Fil-A?)
