Update...

We can't believe we have lived in Omaha for a whole year already, welcomed Jacob into our family, and bought a house...(still waiting on it though). We still miss our AZ friends, miss visiting my sister and her family in New Mexico too, and boy do we miss living within driving distance of sunny San Diego too. However, we love it here in Omaha! We don't love the winter, but love the city. We have made so many great new friends and Jack has accomplished so much at his new position at Raytheon. He started a Masters in Systems Engineering last month, it will take him three years to finish. He is only taking one class a semester. It's nice because it's not so hard on me and the kids, but it has been hard having to adjust to realize he is in school and does need study time.

I am still doing a preschool co-op with Tyler and 3 of his friends. He is learning so much each week and amazes us every day. He walked up to me the other day and said "Mommy, L-O-V-E, love mommy!" Smart little boy. He's also got quite the firecracker personality most recently. He's into throwing all out tantrums when he doesn't get his way, which is quite trying on our patience levels. But he is still relatively well behaved compared to most 3-yr old boys his age, and for that we are thankful! Tyler still has NO interest in potty training, oy. We tell him that so and so is potty trained and he says "yeah, he goes in the potty, I like my diaper". We have a deadline though, he has to be trained by September or he can't go to the preschool I signed him up for...hopefully he gets tired of diapers soon.

Jacob...where to start with Jacob. Jacob will be 10 months in a few days! It has been so long since I've updated about him! He is ALWAYS on the move. He makes church nearly impossible since he hates to sit still for more than 2 minutes. Within the last week or two he has slowly transitioned from the always cute army crawl to his hands and knees. Occasionally his arm will give way and he'll finish going to his destination with the army crawl. He climbs up on everything now too. He loves to climb the stairs at church (the only place he ever sees stairs currently) He is still in the beginning stages of "cruising" along furniture, but when he sees something he wants he gets to it quickly. He is slowly losing all the chubbiness, over the past few days MANY people have told me he just looks so much older and a lot more like Tyler all of a sudden. He can now drink from a sippy cup and is obsessed with them! He will throw a big fit if Tyler won't give him his sippy cup or if we take it away from him. He loves cheerios now too, he would eat the whole box if we let him. Within the past two days he has started refusing eating baby food (can you blame him??). I put it in one of those bottle feeders today and he took it fine, so hopefully it'll buy us a little time until he gets better at eating chunks of food. He is okay at eating real food, but it has to be really tiny. He has had broccoli, chicken, cheese and apples, all sorts of bread/crackers, and has loved all of it. He loves to crawl around and explore the apartment, he loves to play in the pots and pans cupboard! For months now he has had a strange obsession with doors. He will just lay down next to a door and swing it open and shut forever, silly kid. He loves to play with Tyler's Shake and Go cars too. Yesterday I dropped Tyler off at Preschool and Jacob cried when I started pulling away without his brother! So sweet! He has started clapping his hands and waving at us too. Around 7pm every night he gets his second wind, every night he has picked either an article of clothing lying around or a fabric basketball and wrestles with it...or attacks it, however you decide to describe it it is hilarious! Now, he's not all fun and games though...he still gets up a billion times a night, which leaves mommy very tired all the time! But I try to remind myself "This too shall pass" right? right?!

what cute boys you have! they are both growing up so much! my advice on the potty-training...what until tyler is ready. it's been a breeze with alexa because she was definitely ready - it was just me who needed to be ready. but she's done so well - we're not even 2 weeks in and i can count on less than one hand the # of accidents!
