It's COLD here, very cold...but not as cold as in some places...like Rapid City where my brother is, still though...it's cold. It snowed all day on Tuesday, here is a fun picture from my porch window. It was quite an experience driving in it that day...I was nervous...very nervous. Driving in snow is just too unpredictable and I just couldn't leave the driveway without saying a prayer. Some of you may laugh, but I have never really had to drive in the snow before, so it is a new experience for me. I was white knuckling it all the way to Tyler's preschool, I got a little less nervous each trip I made that day though, so I'm okay now, but the first venture out that day was interesting.
Yes, I have an SUV, but just because it's an SUV doesn't mean it automatically has 4-Wheel Drive, there was no need to spend extra money on that in AZ! But we did get lucky enough to have heated seats be standard in that car...they are my new best friend now.
I thought it was the first time I had driven in a ton of snow, but my brother Jonathan informed me he remembered driving with me in NC when it was snowing once and I white knuckled it then too, haha. Oh well, I hope I get used to it one day, or my kids are going to get cabin fever here in Nebraska.
This is what 2 degrees looks like in case you were wondering, and yes, -4 looks about the same.

wow! You really are having a winter. A real one. Today, not to brag,..um, was almost 70 and windy. Sun was shining and kids played outside with short sleeves and skirts. We miss ya !They want snow soooo bad though. I told them maybe we will get cold enough by the time it is spring.
Poor sheltered Tiffany! You will get used to it if you live here for very long I'm sure. I don't enjoy it or take it lightly, but you just have to deal with it here. I could do without this early snow though. yuck! And the windchill.
I cannot believe you have an SUV and it doesn't have 4-wheel drive standard. That just seems silly. But heated seats....I'm jealous!
Man, I am jealous, I bet the girls loved being able to play in the warm sun:) And I'm sure you were glad to get them out of the house!

I'm not sheltered, it's not like I've never been through winters before- I was born in Colorado of all wintrous places. I'm not complaining either, I'm mearly writing about how funny it is of the temperature difference we just moved from. Crazy, we've experienced a temperature range difference of about 120 degrees in just a year!
I'm actually already "used" to it, not that it isn't cold because, boy is it cold! That wind is a killer isn't it?
There was no reason to buy a 4WD car, they don't even have many 4WD on car lots in southern arizona actually.
WOW!! Talk about cold and snowy! I'm a little jealous! :) It has been really nice here lately though, like Jenn-Lee said. Infact yesterday (on Christmas) the weather guy said it was our 6th warmest Christmas day since 18-something! Can you believe that? (Sorry...prob doesn't help you out there hearing that). But, I would love to have a white Christmas though, just once. ():)
