We are in the crazy moving mode this week. It's crazy how fast this move to Omaha has come upon us. We are really going to miss all the friends and memories we have made here. We'll miss being so close to San Diego! We'll especially miss visiting my sister Valeriane and her kids in Albuquerque and all our friends in Phoenix. We'll miss the heavenly winters, but won't miss the hellish summers (excuse my language, but that's what they are!!!). I look forward to making Tyler rake some leaves and letting him play in the snow though!
You know, we complained a lot about Tucson, but as I think about moving I realize I will miss it! It's not the prettiest place to live, but I will miss the sunsets and I will miss seeing all the cool cactus'. It's really neat to know that a Saguaro cactus only grows about an inch a year (something like that). So as we drive down the highway into town occasionally I like to look out the window at the dusty desert and see how many huge cactus' I can find, because every arm represents something like 75 years! Talk about history! I always joke and say "Man, if that cactus could talk!" I love seeing the cool prickly pear cactus' and seeing the Saguaro bloom flowers...yes they do have flowers. (One thing I am very proud of is that I succesfully lived almost 4 years in Arizona without seeing a snake or a scorpion. But I did get to see a havalina...that was a bit scary.) :)
When we moved here we had JUST gotten married, so Jack and I started our life together here in Tucson. We started our family and many years of memories here. We bought our first house here. We learned so much, but, it's time to move on to the next step in life, who knows where we'll end up eventually, for now we'll take advantage of being able to explore different places in the country. So, off to the midwest!

Hey guys! Congrats on the new job, the move, and number 2 on the way. Abbie gave me your blog link. Jack, I totally meant to call you back, I hope your number isn't changing with this move. Ironically enough, the day you called I was snowboarding and I separated my shoulder. I was in a little pain and distracted so I've been a slacker calling people back.
Anyway, let me know if your changing your numbers. My sister lives in Omaha, and they like it. So, when I visit them, I will definitely have to give you guys a ring.
Oh in case you didn't know, I moved to Denver for a job last August. :) Talk to you soon and congrats.
Oh Tiffany, I loved the cactus info. Seriously I had no idea they only grew an inch a year. You could write a cool book about all that saquaro's (sp?) see.
Congrats on the move and let me know if you are ever in CO.
Hey Tiffany,
I can't imagine how hard it must be to leave Arizona and move to Nebraska!!! They are complete opposites. But I guess if you could learn to love the desert, you can learn to love the snow and mud right? I love the picture of Tyler at the kitchen aid mixer--Bryant insists on wearing an apron when he cooks too! Also I have the same mixer, Kitchen aids rock! Good luck with everything, and in case you didn't know, my email address is maurine08@earthlink.net
Snow? Yes, Mud? No! Just seeing the comment before mine. It will be a huge change. I think it's hard because you, me and many people complain about where we live, but then when it's time to move you realize just how much you loved the place. We complained about the traffic, the humidity and overall crowdedness of DC, but when we moved we missed the water, the fall colors, the warmer winters, the closeness to friends. And now I complain about the winter here but really, I'd miss a lot of things if I moved away. So I hope you will enjoy it here, and look to the good things and appreciate them. Including having our kids grow up together! At least for a little while.
Love the information on the cactus!
Hi tiffany! I am so excited to find your blog!! I hope the move goes well and you start to get adjusted before the next little guy comes along!!! keep the posts coming!!!!
